Projects
I have submitted several stories (both novel length and shorts) since 2001, but no luck so far.
Currently working on a few select short stories and several novels. The novels are spread across the genres as:
-
An Alternate History story set around the Danish-Swedish war of 1658. Reminiscent of Harry Harrison's Stars and Stripes and even a bit of Harry Turtledove's Great War series, it's filled with details and people from the era, hard hitting action both on land and at sea and the drama of a man torn from his wife, struggling to make enough of a name for himself for her to see him as a hero when they are reunited. There are ideas for a series working its way up through time (1730's, 1800 and the near future). Right now. I'm filling in the blanks of the draft and revising. Starts final revision at the end of November and expect to have it shipment ready by late December 2007 / early January 2008.
-
A Romantic Fantasy, set in Scandinavia and Midgard, that is about 55% done (final revision). Currently working out the outline for two more in the same series. In the same vein as Charlaine Harris' "Southern Vampire"-series...although without the vampires. Thought as a series of at least 4.
-
The sequel to my YA Hard SF story (see finished projects below). This time it is set in Space (mostly) with a large part of the final showdown on the dark side of the moon. Currently drafted about 45% of the story, still expecting a final draft by mid-December, and a finished product by March '08.
-
A near-future fantasy, set in the mountains of Colorado, USA, with a world that has fallen victim to terror and anti-terror fanatics, we follow the lives of two ordinary people, and their fight for freedom. I have three parts of this in draft form and will need to spend a considerable amount of time to get them into finished form.
Others in the pipeline includes:
- A YA near future SF, set on a train from New York to Los Angeles (Could be expanded into series).
- A hard-SF story set on the bottom of the world’s oceans (Could be expanded into a series).
- A humorous Fantasy crossing sub-genres, from High Fantasy, to Swords and Magic.
- A hard-SF exploring the origin of man.
Finished Projects / In submission:
-
A YA Hard SF called Abducted, mostly set in southern Sweden and outer space, one of my all time favorite projects. A space-opera for teens...with the same intensity as David Weber’s "Honor Harrington"-series, but with a dash of humor and high-spirit. There are outlined several more stories in this series (10 in all), and I have drafted the chapter outline for parts 2-6.
-
An Urban/Dark fantasy called The Nexus, set in Copenhagen, Denmark, for those that like Buffy/Angel and Laurell K. Hamilton's "Anita Blake"-series. A sequel is being drafted.
