Neil Gaiman

British writer, mostly famous for his Sandman series of books/graphic novels, of which I have none. I ran across Mr. Gaiman at Noreascon4 in Boston in 2004 and found him to be both funny and interesting.

Included in my library are the following books:

Neverwhere

Dark Urban Fantasy set in the darkside of London. I found it to be a truly amazing book, well worth the read.

American Gods

American Gods is, to my mind, trying to live up to something that it can't. It's rich and well written, but it lacks the sparkle-in-his-eye humor and zest that enriched "Neverwhere".

Good Omens (w. Terry Pratchett)

After reading "Neverwhere" I stumbled across Good Omens at Copenhagen's Central Station, and liking Neil Gaiman (and loving Terry Pratchett's writing) bought it. It was funny, but with hints of darkness. Inspiring.
